Meet Dr. Gregory Baron

I have worked for nearly 37 years as a general family dentist. I credit my work ethic to my parents, both with Eastern European roots, who worked tirelessly to give my two older brothers and me a better life.

Each day of dentistry presents unique challenges which keep me motivated and I continuously strive to make each and every patient’s visit positive and special. With a family dental practice, I am privileged to treat patients of all ages. Many of the two- and three-year-olds that began their dental visits sitting in their parent’s lap now return with families of their own. Being a father of two grown sons myself, I appreciate the faith and trust families continue to express in my practice.

Education and Experience

Dr. Baron’s passion for dentistry began long ago, as a patient observing how his own orthodontist transformed his smile. To this day, nothing gives him more satisfaction than seeing patients smile after cosmetic dental procedures.

That said, he chose to become a family dentist out of an appreciation for the diversity of dental options available in family care, as well as the opportunity to serve multi-generational families. He is happy to eliminate pain, restore function, improve oral health, and yes, to give patients smiles they love and love to share.

Dr. Baron attended Princeton University, graduating in 1981 with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and attended Fairleigh Dickinson University School of Dentistry, where he obtained his Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) in 1985.

He has practiced general family dentistry since completing dental school in May 1985 and has been in his home-office in Glen Rock since February 1998.

Baron Family Dentistry is built on the foundation of service, of helping people one-to-one, and of providing high-quality, lasting dental solutions in a warm and supportive environment. Because he is a sole practitioner, patients can be confident they will see Dr. Baron at each of their appointments. Likewise, his caring and professional dental team enables the office to function smoothly and offer continuity of care.

Dr. Baron is especially proud to consider his staff to be family: they are welcoming to all patients and treat each with respect and compassion. Each is professional in their duties and dedicated to providing an excellent dental experience, yet also fun to be around.

Continuing Education and Professional Affiliations

Dentistry has undergone many advancements since Dr. Baron completed dental school. Through regular ongoing continuing education – attending meetings, lectures, and seminars, and participating in study clubs – Dr. Baron keeps current on the latest developments. This affords his patients the optimum in dental care with proven materials, procedures, and technologies.

In addition to membership in the American Dental Association, Dr. Baron is an active participant in the Ridgewood Valley Study Club. This organization meets regularly, allowing members to update their knowledge and skills in emerging dental technology, methodologies, and trends.

Beyond the Office

Away from dentistry, Dr. Baron’s passion is his family. His wife – and love of his life – Frances, is a retired Garfield High School English teacher. The couple has been married for 39 years and have two grown sons, Bradley and Tyler.

Bradley is a musical theater actor/singer who has performed worldwide in the cruise industry. When stateside, he is a team member of Bohemia Real Estate in NYC. Tyler is a cryptocurrency consultant and IT specialist. Tyler’s new wife, Mechella, completes the family … except for the fish in the Baron Family Dentistry reception area.

Some of Dr. Baron’s favorite hours are spent relaxing down the shore in Wildwood Crest. He also enjoys trips to visit Mickey and Minnie at Disneyworld, Broadway theater, and Yankees baseball. Sharing these times and experiences with loved ones, and creating family memories, keep him smiling!
